How loading crews work in Charlotte
You rent a U-Haul, Penske, or Budget truck. We send a two- or three-person crew to your origin — NoDa bungalow, Plaza Midwood ranch, Uptown high-rise, Ballantyne new-build, Concord starter home, wherever in Metrolina. They load under your direction. Most Charlotte jobs run two to three hours.
We don’t drive the truck and we don’t broker storage. Labor — done by people who load trucks daily and understand the Carolinas-summer pace — is the whole product.
When to use a crew vs. moving yourself
Charlotte patterns where a crew earns its keep:
- Summer mornings. May through September means a 7am or 8am start to beat the worst of the heat-and-humidity stack. Two amateurs at noon in August is the most common back-injury and dehydration pattern we see here. Three-mover crews start early and beat the worst of the day.
- Uptown high-rises. Most newer towers in South End, NoDa (high-density side), and Uptown proper want a Certificate of Insurance and freight-elevator reservation. Crews that have run those buildings before don’t lose 30 minutes to the security desk.
- Two-story houses in Ballantyne, Mountain Island, Highland Creek, Huntersville. Family-sized furniture plus the standard suburban staircase means three movers, not two.
- Bank-corporate relocations. A lot of moves in Charlotte are corporate-sponsored — the crews know how to keep paperwork legible for reimbursement.
If you’re moving a studio in Plaza Midwood with a friend’s pickup, DIY is fine.
What it costs
Loading Crews quotes every job individually. We don’t publish flat rates — the right number for your move depends on crew size, hours, stairs, specialty items, and the day of week.
After you submit the booking form, our dispatch team texts or calls within five minutes with your specific quote. Flat-rate quotes, no upcharges on arrival, no charge from us if no crew claims your job. The quote you get is the price you pay.

Frequently asked questions
Service area beyond Mecklenburg County?
Most of greater Charlotte / Metrolina: Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Indian Trail, Monroe, Mount Holly, Belmont, Kannapolis, Salisbury, Statesville. Further out (Hickory, Shelby) are covered by our national dispatch — same booking flow.
COI for Uptown / South End high-rises?
If your building requires a Certificate of Insurance, mention it at booking and the crew lead will work with you to file ahead of move day.
Bank-corporate relocation — anything different?
Tell us at booking and we’ll match a crew that’s done corporate moves before. The crew can provide itemized receipts and timing logs for expense reports.
Summer heat — what’s the move?
Book a 7am or 8am start from May through September. The crew brings water; you keep your own cooler stocked. Heat-sensitive items (electronics, candles, wood furniture, art) load last to minimize hot-truck time.
Can the crew handle a piano or gun safe?
Yes if you tell us at booking. Specialty items need three movers minimum and the right equipment (piano dolly, stair climber). We’ll match a crew that does these regularly.
Same-day booking?
Weekdays usually yes. End-of-month and summer Saturdays fill two to three days out — book ahead when you can.
